We the People Campaign (with Amplifier & Ernesto Yerena)
I collaborated with the Amplifier Foundation and artist Ernesto Yerena on the We the People campaign, a landmark public‑art initiative that used visual storytelling to spark national dialogue and counter rising nationalism and intolerance. We the People was launched through a record‑breaking Kickstarter that raised over $1.3 million and distributed artwork globally, with millions of free downloads and large‑scale public placements during the 2017 U.S. presidential inauguration and related protests. The project also featured artists Shepard Fairey and Jessica Sobogol and photographers Arlene Mejorado and Ridwan Adhami.
For the campaign, I photographed Helen Redfeather during her activism at Standing Rock, and Ernesto Yerena created an illustration based on that portrait used in the We the People artwork. This collaboration integrated documentary photography and activist art to amplify Indigenous resistance and broaden the campaign’s impact.
